Michael Mann, a 53-year-old man, was handed a life sentence with the possibility of parole only after 132 years for the sexual assaults of five women in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O’Malley announced. The offenses, committed between May 1, 2021, and October 1, 2024, involved Mann luring his victims to hotel events, where he would then isolate and attack them.
The charade consisted of Mann deceiving women with promises of $2,000 or more for serving at exclusive events or poker games. He reached out to them through online ads, leading them to travel from cities like Akron and Canton to Cleveland. Upon arrival, he would demand cash under the guise of a room deposit, which was when the assaults would take place, according to a report published by the office of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor.
On September 12, after a jury trial, Mann was found guilty of eight counts of Rape, five counts of Kidnapping, one count of Attempted Rape, and two counts of Gross Sexual Imposition.
