Police chase in Euclid that killed bystander reached speeds of 90 mph; suspect held on $500,000 bond

CLEVELAND, Ohio – A driver in a stolen SUV fled Euclid police at speeds of 90 mph before crashing into a car and killing a Cleveland man, police video released this week shows.

Maurice Neil Ford, 54, died Thursday when an 18-year-old driver slammed into Ford’s Chevrolet Malibu at Nottingham Road and St. Clair Avenue. Jeremiah Bacon, who police said was driving the stolen Jeep SUV, has been arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular homicide.

Bacon was charged Friday in Euclid Municipal Court. He is being held on a $500,000 bond. A grand jury is expected to hear the case for an indictment in the coming weeks…
