CLEVELAND (WJW) – Voters in the city of Cleveland voted Tuesday for the first time under a new set of boundaries for council wards.
In the past several years, the population in Cleveland has declined, so Cleveland City Council has also gotten smaller, going from 17 members to 15.
Councilmembers approved the new 15-ward map earlier this year. But now, fewer wards meant some political drama on Election Day.
