CLEVELAND — Honduras native Alejandro Meza is leading dozens of Ohioans in learning about indigenous history at the second annual Tribal Nations Day in Cleveland.
“Tribal Nations Day basically is like a holiday that I kind of made up to kind of rebrand Thanksgiving,” Meza said. “Because, although Thanksgiving is supposed to be a holiday of like family love and dinner, it has a dark history of … one of the biggest genocides in the entire world of Native Americans.”
