A peculiar incident has recently come to light involving a patient’s MyChart account with Cleveland Clinic. The patient, who has an estranged twin sister, found out about an ER visit at Hillcrest that was not hers but was showing up in her past visits on MyChart. The patient was not in the area at the time and was surprised to see the visit recorded on her account. She immediately contacted the clinic, who acknowledged the mistake and promised to rectify it. However, the visit still appeared in her past visits, and her phone number had been changed to her sister’s. The patient, who shares the same date of birth, similar first names, and the same maiden last name with her sister, was left with many questions and concerns about her privacy.
