CLEVELAND, Ohio — Cuyahoga County residents who rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program should receive the remainder of their November benefits this week, after federal officials authorized states to pay out full SNAP amounts following the end of the government shutdown.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) said it has received official guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service to issue the final portion of November benefits. Residents are being urged to monitor their accounts through the ConnectEBT app or the Ohio Benefits Self Service Portal.
ODJFS began issuing partial benefits — up to 65% of normal allotments — on Nov. 12 and distributed most of those payments last week under temporary federal rules. Then over the weekend, the agency calculated remaining amounts for each household and will issue the balance this week, regardless of recipients’ usual distribution date, according to messaging on Cuyahoga County’s Hunger Response Team website…
