Gund Foundation awards $16.9 million to Cleveland area nonprofits

The Cleveland-based George Gund Foundation has announced grants totaling $16.9 million to 135 nonprofits.

Awards to be disbursed over three years include the Hispanic Business Center ($1.2 million) and Institute for Conservation Leadership ($525,000). Awards to be disbursed over two years include the NuPoint Community Development Corporation ($500,000) and the Rails to Trails Conservancy ($300,000). Single-year grants include Cleveland Neighborhood Progress ($750,000) and HFLA of Northeast Ohio ($100,000).

The foundation also highlighted its ongoing support of the Say Yes Cleveland collaborative, a post-secondary scholarships program, which has engaged more than 4,600 students with more than 1,000 Say Yes scholars earning degrees and certificates since 2019. The latest Say Yes-related recipients include Say Yes Cleveland ($500,000 over two years) and two grants to College Now Greater Cleveland: a $250,000 one-year grant for administrative support and an $810,000 grant over three years for coaching support…
