MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Nearly five months after the shooting ambush that killed Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner and wounded Officers Peter Gale and Brent Payne, the Values-in-Action Foundation — the organization behind the Kindland movement — honored their sacrifice at a luncheon Monday.
Families, officers and supporters attended the annual Celebration of Goodness luncheon at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, where the three Lorain officers were presented with the “Ritter Way” award. The honor was created in memory of fallen Cleveland Police Officer Jamieson Ritter and fallen Euclid Police Officer Jacob Derbin.
