Dawson Foundation gifts more than 100 coats to kids

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A heartwarming holiday tradition, hosted by one of FOX 8’s own, returned to Cleveland on Saturday, helping to keep kids warm this winter.

The Dawson Foundation, founded by morning anchor Wayne Dawson and his brother Judge William Dawson, hosted its eighth annual winter coat giveaway.

The foundation once again partnered with Fairhill Partners to pass out 100 winter coats to children being raised by their grandparents, many of whom have stepped in as full-time caregivers.

“Our kinship families are in the low income bracket, and we know the importance of the holidays — that’s one of the most depressing time of the year — when kids can get what they need,” said Carla Lanier of Fairhill Partners…
