U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspects Accused of Separate Cleveland Homicides

The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force made notable strides in law enforcement on Tuesday with the capture of two suspects implicated in separate Cleveland homicides. In a coordinated effort with Cleveland police, the task force successfully apprehended 21-year-old Camron Phillips and 22-year-old Christian Gonzalez on charges of aggravated murder, as reported by Cleveland 19 News.

The arrest of Camron Phillips took place at an East 131st Street location and is connected to the Sept. 28 shooting of Zai’vyon Jackson, also 21. Jackson was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the vicinity of the 1000 block of West 11th Street. After a thorough investigation, a warrant was issued for Phillips, who was finally taken into custody this past Tuesday. The Cleveland.com specifies that the victim suffered his fatal injuries on that specific block.

The second arrest conducted by the task force was of Christian Gonzalez, found at MetroHealth Medical Center. He stands accused of the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Orlando Cruz that occurred on Nov. 9. Cruz was pronounced dead on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds near the 4900 block of Storer Avenue, where the police rate of response was undeniably quick upon receiving the call, as vehicles were observed hastening away from the tumultuous scene…
