I-Team: Possible suspect ruled out for now in Metroparks double homicide

CLEVELAND (WJW) — A man police say was involved in a murder suicide in May in West Park has been ruled out, at this point, as a possible suspect in the double homicide in the Metroparks six and a half years ago. Metroparks Police say there is no connection.

“His possible involvement in the 2019 double homicide was investigated and at this time there is no evidence to support that he was involved in this case,” a Cleveland Metroparks spokesperson told the I-Team.

The news of no connection is disappointing to the mother of Carnell Sledge. In 2019, someone killed Kate Brown and Carnell Sledge after they met in the Rocky River Reservation. That killer has never been caught.
