Judge recuses self in Cuyahoga County records tampering case in which judge is facing charges

CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio (WJW) – A local judge criminally charged with records tampering was set to appear in court Wednesday, but the judge presiding over the case recused herself before the hearing got underway.

Prosecutors on Monday, Dec. 22, charged Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Judge Leslie Ann Celebrezze, 54, with a third-degree felony count of tampering with records, alleging she manually assigned herself a case in 2023, while claiming it had been randomly assigned.

She has pleaded not guilty.
