Man gets 19-year sentence for $335,000 armored truck heists in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A judge on Friday sentenced a Cleveland man to 19 years in prison for robbing two armored trucks at gunpoint in a three-month span, saying that the brazen daytime robberies could have ended with someone killed.

U.S. District Judge Bridget Brennan admonished Christion Sims, 24, for being part of a group that robbed one Brinks truck for $333,000 outside a gas station and another one for $2,000 outside a liquor store.

“At any point, with just a little pressure on the trigger, you could be in state court facing a murder charge,” Brennan said. “Anyone could have been killed. And for what? They just went to work that day.”…
