Former East Cleveland mayor appeals corruption charges after he was sentenced to probation

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Former East Cleveland Mayor Brandon King has filed an appeal in his corruption case, for which he was found guilty and sentenced to three years’ probation and 100 hours of community service.

According to court documents, one of the reasons cited for the appeal was that he was subject to drug and alcohol testing even though there is nothing in court records that suggests that alcohol and drug abuse had any bearing on his alleged conduct.

As part of the sentencing King has to pay $27,000 in restitution and is banned from serving in an elected position…
