Arraignment for suspect accused of killing Maple Heights man in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The 20-year-old Cleveland man accused of a murder in April 2025, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Thursday.

The judge ordered Leantoine Bates held on a $1 million bond. He will return to court on Jan. 29 for a pre-trial.

Bates was indicted on the charges of aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery, felonious assault, attempted grand theft of a motor vehicle, and possessing criminal tools.
