WESTLAKE, Ohio – A caller at 2:45 a.m. on Jan. 11 reported that a car had stopped in the middle of the road on Columbia Road between Hilliard and Center Ridge.
Officers arrived and found the motionless car with the brake lights illuminated. The driver was passed out behind the wheel with the transmission still in drive.
Officers used a cruiser to block in the vehicle, preventing it from fleeing, before waking the driver. Reports indicate it took longer than a minute to get a response from the driver, who pushed the power button on his radio instead of shutting down the engine as instructed…
