East Cleveland Police Officer Indicted on Felony and Misdemeanor Charges for Falsifying Records and Misconduct

In a recent turn of events that has reverberated through the East Cleveland community, police officer Latasha Moore has been indicted on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, linked to three separate incidents stretching across 2024 and 2025.

According to the details released by Cleveland 19, the allegations include tampering with records, telecommunications fraud, and unauthorized use of police computers for personal gain, among other charges. Moore was placed on unpaid administrative leave on January 22, prior to her indictment, and she has since resigned from the department.

One of the incidents, which occurred on January 7, 2024, involved a traffic stop where Moore falsely claimed the escaping suspect ran over her feet and struck her lower legs with the vehicle’s door, an assertion directly contradicted by body camera footage. “It is my hope that with this new mayoral administration, reforms have been made that will prevent actions like these in the future,” Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C.
