Tucked just off Som Center and sharing a border with Progressive’s campus, the land is one of the most visible development opportunities in the eastern suburbs. Village officials say potential buyers have kicked the tires for both industrial and residential projects, and any move to redevelop would trigger rezoning and a public review process. How that shakes out will determine who comes out ahead financially, whether it is local schools, the village itself or nearby employers.
