Cleveland Fire Department Enhances Safety Measures Against Lithium-Ion Battery Fires

Lithium-ion batteries, those tiny powerhouses nestled into the devices we can’t seem to live without, have an unsung downside: they can be a fire hazard when mistreated. The Cleveland Fire Department recently took to social media to spotlight this issue. “When damaged, improperly charged, or discarded incorrectly, these batteries can pose a serious fire hazard,” stated the Cleveland Fire Department in a Facebook post. In response to the risks connected to the everyday use of phones, laptops, power tools, e-bikes, and other devices, the city’s firefighters have now been equipped with F-500, a specialized encapsulating agent designed specifically to tackle lithium-ion battery fires.
