A Wednesday evening walk across Eddy Road ended in tragedy when a car struck two women in a marked crosswalk, killing one and seriously injuring the other, according to Cleveland police. Officers from the city’s Fifth District arrived to find emergency crews treating the victims and the roadway shut down as an active crime scene. Investigators later tracked down a vehicle believed to be involved and took a suspect into custody in what police are calling a hit-and-run.
Police say the crash happened around 6:53 p.m. as a southbound vehicle hit two women who were in the marked crosswalk.
