Bridge project will impact traffic on this major east side highway into 2027

WILLOUGHBY HILLS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that construction to replace the U.S. 6 (Chardon Road) bridge over Interstate 271 not only will impact traffic on U.S. 6, but on I-271 below.

Weather permitting, ODOT said lane restrictions will begin on Monday. Then a week later – starting Monday, March 2 – the bridge will be closed through October.

ODOT said motorists should expect lane restrictions at various times on I-271 below the bridge through July 2027. The new bridge will also have additional restrictions until all the work is completed in July 2027, ODOT said…
