Dan Gilbert plays to win — but who loses when Bedrock’s new riverfront amphitheater opens?

Dan Gilbert doesn’t lose, which means that his planned amphitheater on the Cuyahoga River will take business away from other music venues in the city, say the hosts of Today in Ohio.

Gilbert’s Bedrock development company announced plans this week to build a 6,200-seat open-air amphitheater. It’s part of Bedrock’s sweeping downtown revitalization plan, which also includes the Cavs’ new practice facility and a COSM entertainment concept built around immersive technology and a massive video screen. The vision is bold — an 18-hour -a-day entertainment district stretching from Progressive Field and Rocket Arena to the riverbank.
