CLEVELAND (WJW) – The FOX 8 I-Team has learned a magistrate has ruled against using unclaimed funds to help build sports stadiums.
A Franklin County Court of Common Pleas magistrate on Monday granted a preliminary injunction that will prevent the state of Ohio from transferring billions of dollars from the Ohio Unclaimed Funds Trust Fund to be used to help finance sports stadiums projects.

The ruling is a blow to the Cleveland Browns, who are counting on the state funding to help build a new dome in Brook Park.
However, the ruling is not final. Lawyers from the state and the plaintiffs can file objections and then a judge can accept or modify the ruling.
