Ohio EPA: Browns Brook Park soil will need to be cleaned before residential units can be filled

BROOK PARK, Ohio (WOIO) – The Ohio EPA says the soil at the new Browns Brook Park dome site is not clean enough for residential units to be put there, spelling trouble for the 1,500 apartments and 450 hotel rooms.

According to the Ohio EPA, the site has limitations placed on it due to potential safety issues in the soil. That is why the lot is only approved for commercial/industrial use, not residential.

The former Ford site, which was closed in the early 2010’s, left the site with contaminated soil due to the years of mechanical production and wastewater displacement. That left the site with soil in need of remediation before certain construction could take place…
