Regarding “Has a culture of ignoring traffic laws taken hold? You betcha!“
The reason scofflaw vehicles/drivers are “skipping” and not being cited for traffic violations is the fact that a growing number of rear license plates are so dirty, tinted and/or damaged they are impossible to read, even from close up.
The law says it’s the driver’s responsibility to keep plates clear and legible: clearly (no pun intended) those who don’t are breaking the law…
