A Sheffield Village woman says a simple mistake at the lottery counter turned into a six-figure surprise on Friday the 13th. She accidentally bought a Mega Millions ticket for that night’s drawing and ended up with a $100,000 win. After mandatory federal and state taxes, she will take home more than $73,000.
According to FOX8, she meant to buy a Powerball ticket but unintentionally selected Mega Millions at the register instead. Her ticket matched four of the white balls plus the Mega Ball, and the drawing’s 10X multiplier boosted what would normally be a $10,000 prize up to $100,000.
