WESTLAKE, Ohio (WOIO) – A 78-year-old woman was scammed out of almost $200,000 worth of gold after calling a bogus number for “Apple Security.”
Westlake police said the woman’s ordeal began in August 2025, when she called the bogus “Apple Security” number that popped up in a red box on her home computer saying she had been “hacked.”
