Overnight Fugitive Dragnet Nabs Trio Tied To Deadly Attacks In Cleveland And Akron

Federal marshals swept through northeast Ohio this week, grabbing three men wanted in separate violent cases and hauling them in from Cleveland and Akron in less than 24 hours. The arrests, tied to a fatal stabbing, a 2023 shooting case and an alleged run-over killing, pulled together federal and local officers and injected new momentum into several open investigations in the region.

Authorities identified the suspects as 22-year-old Devin Terrell Robinson, wanted on an aggravated murder warrant and located at a home in the 3900 block of Mount Herman Avenue; 28-year-old Joshamee Transou, who was taken into custody at that same address; and 39-year-old Philip Mayfield, arrested Thursday in the 700 block of Hazel Street in Akron. Officials said those details came from a U.S. Marshals release, as reported by Cleveland 19.

According to the U.S. Marshals Service, these joint operations are designed to close out violent crime cases that have remained active.

Transou was wanted by the Painesville Police Department in a 2023 felonious assault case that was later upgraded to attempted murder. Mayfield is accused of running a man over on March 18, an incident that was later upgraded to a homicide case after the victim died.

“These three fugitives caused havoc in our communities,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said in the release cited by Cleveland 19…
