As we approach Good Friday, I would like to address the disrespect shown to local Christians as Cleveland casinos continue to remain open on this sacred day. I have written to the casino managers the last several years in hopes that they would take it on their own to close part of the day.
Cleveland does not have the culture of Las Vegas. Cleveland’s roots are in its churches and religious freedom when the immigrants came to this city.
The verse from John 19:24 “Let’s decide by lot who will get it,” with regard to Jesus’ garments as he was crucified on Good Friday, has been taught to Christians for generations…
