Cheddar cheese recall issued because of E. coli cases

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The FDA and CDC are investigating a multistate outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 infections linked to Raw Farm-brand raw dairy products.

Nine people infected with the outbreak strain of E. coli have been reported over the past several months, the FDA said, with more than half of the illnesses in children under 5 years old.

The FDA interviewed several people who became ill who said they consumed Raw Farm-brand dairy products. The voluntary recall is limited to Raw Farm-brand cheddar cheese. No other products are being voluntarily recalled…
