TRACKING: Timing of rain, possible strong storms

(WJW) — Easter weekend will start off with record warmth and storms and end with a bit of a chill!

A bulk of Saturday will be dry, warm, and breezy! Temperatures will climb well into the mid to upper 70s on Saturday. A few spots could even hit 80 degrees.

A record that has stood for more than 100 years could fall on Saturday. The daily record high for Cleveland on April 4th is 77 degrees (1882). The forecast high on Saturday in Cleveland is 78 degrees.

A line or a broken line of downpours and storms will develop along a cold front late Saturday afternoon/early Saturday evening. These downpours and storms will move from west to east across the area between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Some of the storms that develop could be strong to severe and produce strong to damaging wind gusts.

The storm threat will go down Saturday night. Much of the rain activity will be gone by Sunday morning.

Much cooler air will move in Easter Sunday, which why we’ll go from the 70s on Saturday to the 40s on Sunday. The cooler spring weather will stick around for the start of the following workweek.
