Judge: Man falsely accused of Cleveland murder ‘corrupted’ his own suit

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A judge has thrown out a lawsuit from a man who sued Cleveland for his wrongful murder conviction.

Last week, U.S. District Judge David Ruiz dismissed a lawsuit from Ru-El Sailor, 46, who had accused the city’s police department of multiple civil rights violations connected to his wrongful conviction for the murder of Omar Clark on Nov. 17, 2002.

Sailor’s conviction was overturned after he spent 15 years in prison, and in 2020 he filed a lawsuit against Cleveland and the officers who investigated his case…
