WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — Three people pleaded guilty in connection with a scam that targeted an elderly Willoughby woman out of about $93,000 following an FBI-assisted sting operation, police said Tuesday.
The investigation began Nov. 20, when the Willoughby Police Department learned an elderly woman had been scammed out of about $93,000. Investigators requested assistance from the FBI during the investigation.
