Historic Lakewood fire station to be restored for pediatric burn survivors

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — The history at 1422 Hopkins Avenue is still on the walls.

Built in 1926, the building served as Lakewood Fire Station 3 for 50 years until it shut down in 1976. After that, it changed hands: The Great Lakes Theater Festival took over the space, hanging banners throughout celebrating the history of the department.
