(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex near East Fountain Boulevard and Jet Wing Drive in the early morning of Sunday, June 21, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD reported that at around 2:15 a.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Fountain Spring Grove in response to a disturbance with shots fired. When they arrived, several people told the officers that multiple shots had been fired and a group of minors who had run through the apartment complex was involved.
When officers first arrived, five kids ran from them and were caught and detained. Police learned that they were involved in the original disturbance, according to CSPD. Through investigation, officers learned that several minors had been involved in a verbal disturbance, and additional people arrived in a vehicle, fired a round, and then exchanged fire with people inside one of the apartments…
