(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The City of Colorado Springs has established a new Homeless Response Team that brings together 15 city departments to coordinate community homelessness responses. The team focuses on streamlining operations across enforcement, cleanup, outreach, shelter, housing, supportive services, and employment.
The initiative aims to improve collaboration among existing municipal departments rather than create additional government entities. While city crews continue cleaning up encampments, the new team works to connect individuals with housing, health services and job resources to prevent repeated displacements.
The efforts support the city’s 2025-2030 Homelessness Response Action Plan, which launched in November 2024 following community input.
