(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — Local nonprofit Shield616 and Mission BBQ teamed up to support first responders after two Colorado State Patrol troopers were shot in Teller County on Tuesday, Aug. 25, and as crews worked tirelessly after the incident to track down the suspect.
“In the aftermath of something like this, there is so much happening behind the scenes,” read a Shield616 Facebook post. “Agencies from across the region come together, working tirelessly to support one another, care for their communities, and piece together exactly what happened.”

Following the shooting, the organization and restaurant teamed up to deliver 150 bagged lunches to emergency crews assisting with the incident response.
