(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A suspect died from a gunshot wound after officers reported hearing a “single gunshot” while confronting her on Monday, Sept. 7. No officer had fired a gun, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD reported that at around 7 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the 5600 block of Cedar Creek View, near North Powers and Palmer Park boulevards, to investigate a domestic disturbance. While investigating, officers learned the suspect had been shooting a gun into an apartment complex.
According to CSPD, officers found the suspect and confronted her, but she was uncooperative when they began issuing commands, so they got into positions that gave them an advantage. As they were doing so, they continued to give the suspect orders to drop the gun. At that moment, a single gunshot was heard…
