A fresh round of grants awarded Tuesday will help pay for more electric vehicle charging stations at 35 locations statewide, including six in southern Colorado.
The awards, which total $23.2 million, were issued through the state’s Direct Current Fast-Charging (DCFC) Plazas initiative and funded by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program and the state’s Community Access Enterprise (CAE), according to a news release Tuesday. The state programs are part of its ongoing strategy to increase electric vehicle adoption and reduce emissions.
The two locations awarded grant money from CAE in Colorado Springs are 1730 Dublin Boulevard and 7395 N. Academy Boulevard. Blink Charging and Evium Charger received $300,000 and $400,000, respectively, from the state’s Community Access Enterprise to build their new charging stations, the press release said.
