The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said two people died in a head-on crash that happened in the evening hours of Tuesday, Jan. 23.
According to CSPD, on Tuesday at 8:53 p.m. officers were called to the area of Marksheffel Road and Drennan Road about a multiple-vehicle crash involving three vehicles.
Two people in one of the vehicles were found dead on the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
CSPD said the two people in the third vehicle were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries but they were stable.
CSPD’s Major Crash Team is investigating the crash, police said multiple factors are being investigated as the cause but speed is believed to be a factor.
Police expect the road will be reopened before the morning commute.
