Colorado Girl Scouts reach out to Spanish-speaking community with first bilingual patch program

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Girl Scouts of Colorado are offering a new patch program that will focus on building entrepreneurial skills.

In collaboration with U.S. Bank, workshops for the patch will teach entrepreneurial skills, and the workshops will be offered in both English and Spanish. Scouts who complete the workshops will earn a patch designed by Xencs Jiménez , a Mexican-American visual artist and entrepreneur based in Denver.

This will be the first bilingual patch program created for Girl Scouts in Colorado.

In a press release on Wednesday, Jan. 24, the Girl Scouts of Colorado described the workshop at Denver’s DreamLab, where U.S. Bank employees will lead more than 100 scouts through five creative stations on how to execute business ideas, earn money, and track earnings.

“Opportunities like this help set young Girl Scouts and other community members on the path to mastering their money-making skills at an early age,” said Girl Scouts of Colorado CEO Leanna Clark.

Another similar workshop will be held in Colorado Springs.
