CSPD: Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by pickup truck

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said a man was hospitalized after being hit by a pickup truck after crossing an intersection in the east side of Colorado Springs Friday night on Jan. 26.

Officers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash at 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Galley Road and North Chelton Road.

CSPD said when officers arrived the man was still underneath the truck. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“Preliminary investigations reveal the pedestrian crossed on a red no-walk signal and due to the dark clothing, he was wearing was not seen by the driver,” said CSPD. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
