(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Governor Jared Polis visited Southern Colorado on Friday, Jan. 26 to deliver a regional State of the State, addressing the Pueblo Chamber of Commerce.
Governor Polis also visited Mount Carmel Veterans Service Center to meet with staff and hear about the center’s work to support veterans in the Pueblo community. Polis was briefed on the the needs of veterans and their families including job training and transition assistance.
The Governor also visited the Pikes Peak Boces School of Excellence in Colorado Springs and talked about plans to build a campus for career-connected learning.
“We want to make sure that no matter where people live, they have those same kinds of opportunities. And that’s really what the Pikes Peak Boces, in a cooperative way with its many districts, some as small as 50 kids in the entire district are able to do, to be able to make sure that opportunity doesn’t pass somebody by just because you live in a less populated area of our state,” said Governor Polis.
