Groundbreaking for affordable housing expansion

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Tuesday, Jan. 30 Greccio Housing, Partners in Housing, and Rocky Mountain Community Land Trust operating as GPR Properties, will break ground on an expansion of Bentley Commons to add more affordable housing in Colorado Springs.

The Bentley Commons expansion will add 168 new affordable housing units. Affordable housing qualifies as no more than one-third of household income being used to pay rent. GPR Properties said Bentley Commons will serve families with children, singles, veterans, and those in transitional housing units, accepting HUD vouchers for veterans and beyond.

“Including the 24 units already on site, the unit mix and income restrictions are 60 one-bedrooms, 105 two-bedrooms, 27 three-bedrooms with 27 units at 30 percent Area Median Income (AMI), 19 units at 49 percent, 102 units at 50 percent and 44 units at 60 percent. 28 units are specifically set aside for veterans on VASH vouchers, who will receive services through the VA,” said GPR Properties.
