Boutique helps special needs teens with the perfect prom

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Grins of anticipation filled the faces of southern Colorado prom-goers as they lined up outside Something New Boutique. Inside waited the perfect outfit to dance their special night away.

“We’re helping Night to Shine attendees, the kings and queens that are going to the ball, find donated dresses and suits to wear to their ball,” said General Manager of Something New Boutique, Sophia Burgo.

Night to Shine, a worldwide prom night for people with special needs, is hosted by the Tim Tebow Foundation and will take place on Feb. 9. According to the Tim Tebow Foundation, the event is for anyone 14 and older who is living with disabilities, and is hosted by local churches around the world.

Along the hangers were a wide variety of dresses which these prom-goers had the chance to select from.

Instead of helping brides-to-be find the dress of their dreams, Something New Boutique warmly welcomed teens and young adults with special needs to find the perfect gown or suit for the highly anticipated occasion.
