(FORT CARSON, Colo.) — Fort Carson announced that units stationed at the base will be deployed to Europe this spring.
The 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team and 4th Infantry Division will be deployed to Europe for about nine months. Fort Carson said the Brigade’s mission will be to reinforce and assure NATO allies and partners while deterring aggression in the region.
“We are deeply honored to support U.S. European Command as well as our European allies and partners in the coming months,” said Col. Brian D. Gilbert, the brigade commander. “The dedication and resiliency of our Soldiers, along with the steadfast support of our families and local community, has enabled us to remain a lethal and ready force.”
Fort Carson said armored brigades deployed to Europe work alongside NATO allies and partners to conduct bilateral and multinational training exercises.
