(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Catholic Charities of Central Colorado said it is facing declining donations and an overwhelming surge in demand for essential services.
“The need has become more critical than ever,” Catholic Charities said. It is now asking for the community’s help to support individuals and families in the community.
Catholic Charities is experiencing an over $628,000 funding gap, and people may have to wait for services, or not be served at all. It has seen a decrease in donations from grantors, government sources, and individual contributions. The Charity has implemented a hiring freeze and budget cuts to lessen the financial gap.
According to the charity, there are a variety of reasons including rising grocery prices, cost of housing, and other factors.
