(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Three people were arrested after police identified a suspect vehicle related to a “pattern of convenience store robberies,” according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD said starting on Sunday, Jan. 28 through Wednesday, Jan. 31, police responded to a series of convenience store robberies. Police said the group would demand money from the business, and one person was often armed with a handgun.
Police identified a vehicle related to the suspects, and on the evening of Thursday, Feb. 1, found the vehicle with three suspects inside, identified later as Desimon Carter, Destiny Pona, and Michael Lee. Police then followed the vehicle to a business in the 8700 block of North Union Boulevard near Research Parkway.
Police said at the location, two people entered the store wearing masks, and moments later the suspects ran from the store and into the vehicle. Officers attempted to contact the vehicle, which started to drive away as officers approached with emergency lights on. According to CSPD, a tactical vehicle intervention was initiated, disabling the vehicle, before all of the suspects got out and ran away.
