(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — A new helicopter landing zone has been completed in the Muscoco Trail area of Cheyenne Canyon, which the City of Colorado Springs said will expedite the transportation of emergency patients by hours.
The Colorado Springs Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Services department posted about the accomplishment on Facebook , and said the addition of the landing zone was thanks for a partnership with the Colorado Springs Fire Department’s (CSFD) High Angle Rescue team and UCHealth Line Medical Air Transport.
The landing zone is in the Muscoco Trail area, where the Parks and Recreation Department said a normal evacuation of someone in need of emergency aid would take around two hours. With the addition of the landing zone, that time can be cut down to 10 minutes.
