(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A suspect in a robbery and carjacking was arrested by police after a pursuit and PIT maneuver in the overnight hours of Friday, Feb. 9, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).
CSPD said on Friday, at around 1 a.m. officers were called to a gas station in the 2400 block of Arlington Drive off of South Circle Drive. The report was for a robbery and carjacking, the carjacked vehicle was reported as a 2006 Honda Pilot.
Police checked the area and around 2 a.m. CSPD said the vehicle was found going north on I-25. After the vehicle exited I-25, officers saw the vehicle run a red light, and a pursuit was started. Police ended the pursuit with a low-speed PIT maneuver in the 12000 block of Oracle Boulevard near Voyager and Middle Creek Parkways.
According to CSPD, the driver of the vehicle was identified as 23-year-old Dexter Jackson and was the only person in the vehicle. Jackson was taken into custody and police said positively identified as the same suspect in the robbery and carjacking.
